When the owners of this beautiful Winmalee home decided it was time to reimagine their bathroom, they came to us with a clear vision – a luxurious, cohesive space that felt intentional in every detail. What existed before was a fragmented layout: a separate toilet accessed from the hallway, and a separate bath and shower area beyond that. Functional, yes, but far from the sanctuary this home deserved. Our challenge was to completely reimagine the space and deliver something truly special. 

The Transformation

From the moment you step into this bathroom, it’s clear that every single decision was made with purpose. The client’s vision was bold and we were here for it – beautiful feature tiles from Tile Cloud running from 1200mm high all the way around the room, creating a striking and cohesive backdrop that immediately sets the tone for the entire space. 

The shower was an interesting journey in itself. The original brief called for an open shower, but after thoughtful discussions with the client, she decided a door was the right choice. This presented a unique challenge – the space features a stunning custom stone piece with a recess on each side, meaning the shower screen had to be cut with absolute precision to sit perfectly around it. 

It’s the kind of detail that requires real craftsmanship and patience, and the end result is seamless. Throughout the shower and across the entire bathroom, the Yabby hardware in antique brass ties everything together beautifully. It’s warm, it’s sophisticated, and it looks absolutely sensational against the tile selection.

Precision and Symmetry

One of the things we’re most proud of in this project is the attention to symmetry and proportion. The freestanding bath is positioned millimetre-perfect within the space, centred with absolute precision. The bath spout mirrors that same centred alignment, and the window above sits in perfect harmony with both. It sounds simple, but achieving this level of precision takes real care and an eye for detail. When you stand back and take it all in, that symmetry is what gives the room its sense of calm and luxury.

The Vanity Area

The vanity area is the perfect finishing touch to this stunning space. The client chose a beautiful wall-mounted vanity option, keeping the floor clear and adding to the sense of space and airiness in the room. The feature mirror has been carefully selected to complement the antique brass hardware throughout, creating a consistent design language from one end of the bathroom to the other. The wall lights in matching antique brass are the final flourish – when switched on, they cast the most beautiful warm glow across the room, completely transforming the mood and atmosphere. It’s one of those details that you don’t fully appreciate until you experience it in person.

The Result

This Winmalee bathroom is a testament to what happens when a client has a clear vision and trusts the process. From the bold Tile Cloud feature tiles to the precision-placed freestanding bath, the custom-fitted shower screen and the warmth of Yabby’s antique brass hardware throughout – every element works in harmony to create a space that is as functional as it is beautiful.
